RNAi based biostimulants for new agro-inputs

Thalya is a French agtech startup based at Genopole developing next-generation biostimulants powered by RNAi (RNA interference) technology. Our sprayable solutions help crops absorb nitrogen more efficiently, increasing yields while cutting fertilizer pollution at the source.

Up to half of the nitrogen fertilizer applied to crops worldwide is never absorbed by plants. It leaches into groundwater, volatilizes into the atmosphere as a potent greenhouse gas, and drives up input costs for farmers. Improving Nitrogen Use Efficiency (NUE) is one of the most urgent challenges in agriculture today — essential to feeding a growing population while protecting soil, water, and climate.

At the core of Thalya is a proprietary R&D platform for designing RNAi biostimulants — spray-applied formulations that precisely and temporarily modulate gene expression in plants. Unlike GMOs, our RNAi sprays are non-transgenic, specific and biodegradable. A fast, targeted, and sustainable way to build resilience into crops.

Beyond nitrogen, this platform is designed to grow into a broader pipeline of biostimulants that directly answer the needs of modern agriculture — from nutrient use efficiency to climate resilience and stress tolerance.

As an agtech startup, Thalya is proud to operate from Genopole, France's premier biotech and life sciences cluster, where we collaborate with leading research institutions to accelerate the development of our RNAi biostimulant pipeline — from discovery to field validation.

Thalya's mission is to help agriculture do more with less: using the precision of RNA interference to grow more food, with fewer inputs, and a lighter footprint on the planet.
